Building Renewal Projects

Buildings age over time, fashion and technology move on and our needs and expectations as a society change.  The combined result is often a facility that is dysfunctional, expensive to run or no longer meets user or market expectation, despite being structurally sound.

At Trapp Architects’ we see Building Renewal as an exciting challenge of reinvention.  We work closely with our clients to develop suitable and appropriate renovation strategies that balance the various, and sometimes competing goals of a project – longevity, marketability, aesthetic appeal, and of course both capital and recurring cost.  We do this by designing sustainable, environmentally responsible, renewal solutions while still meeting design requirements and Client expectations regarding function, aesthetics, time and cost.

To give a building a new life, new appeal and often a whole new identity within established urban fabric ensures that our cities and communities are able to grow and evolve in a sustainable way – it is perhaps the ultimate recycling initiative!
